"A time to reflect and forge ahead", my name is Effiong Divine and this is a reflection on my past few weeks in TIIDELab pre-fellowship cohort 3.0.

My journey in the world of tech was a lonely one, it was more like walking in a dark tunnel without a light but it wasn't too long till I found one. I got an application link into the TIIDELab pre-fellowship cohort 3.0 and like a starving predator looking at prey, I devoured the opportunity. I was a bit skeptical, why? you may ask but I wasn't sure I was fit enough to be in "TIIDELab" but I gave it a try anyways. A few weeks later I got an email telling me I was qualified to write the entrance test (CCAT test) just like any other test I wrote it with fear and doubts in my heart but fortunately, I passed and I got in.

The first few weeks into the boot camp were not as demanding as I thought it will be, we hardly got tasks and in a week we met just thrice and we had our website development classes twice a week and professional development once. I got to meet people of different mindsets, innovations and characters and our coaches were superb with their teachings. As hours turned to days and days to weeks, I got to realize that the standard of TIIDELab was no joke I remember earlier stating that the first few weeks were not demanding but believe me when I say the latter weeks were after my sanity.

The sheer volume of information coupled with the fast-paced learning and the very competitive environment posed a significant challenge having to balance my normal life and the task we were given weekly, from the dreaded CCAT tests to projects or task it got to a point that I couldn't sleep just so I could get most things done. However, I quickly realized that the aim of all the task, projects and test were to give me a push beyond my comfort zone and logical/critical thinking showing me that the is more to a web developer than writing responsive codes. As the weeks progressed, I delved deeper into the programming languages such as HTML and CSS and basic JAVA SCRIPT nevertheless the boot camp curriculum was meticulously crafted to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the tech landscape. The weekly projects and logical tests (CCAT) allowed me to apply my newfound knowledge effectively, strengthening my problem-solving skills and creating that spark of creativity in me. pardon me if I omitted the professional development classes that changed my point of view on professionalism and business advocacy.

My favorite part of the week spent was the weeks I spent with my team members being a team leader I had to tolerate a lot and I still had to connect with my team members so we could be more like a family and less of a team and to my wildest expectations we were closer than I ever imagined the TIIDELab MAVERICKS we called ourselves cause just like our name we stood out and we were completely independent. My knowledge grew wider I began to understand the intermediate concepts of web development mostly while working on projects with my teammates and it only got better after every presentation we did together as a team, and through our collaborative efforts and problem-solving, I discovered the power of teamwork in delivering high-quality problem solutions and as much as that they made me realize that communication is the key to team success.

My experience in this six-week tech boot camp was a transformative journey that embedded me with a solid foundation in the three programming languages that were taught, enhanced my knowledge, and problem-solving skills, made me work on my leadership skills and fostered a collaborative mindset. I learned the value of adaptability and self-belief. this immersive experience not only equipped me with the technical skills necessary but also instilled in me a sense of confidence and purpose. This is the beginning of an end I am forever grateful to TIIDELab for this opportunity. to know more about my journey ensure you subscribe and get ready for more articles thank you.
